{"id":11317,"date":"2015-10-09T11:54:44","date_gmt":"2015-10-09T15:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalsarmrace.com\/?p=11317"},"modified":"2015-10-09T11:54:44","modified_gmt":"2015-10-09T15:54:44","slug":"nlds-pitching-matchups-and-predictions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalsarmrace.com\/?p=11317","title":{"rendered":"NLDS Pitching Matchups and Predictions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we did with the ALDS, Lets look at the NLDS series with pitching matchups and make some quick predictions:<\/p>\n<p><strong>New York Mets-Los Angeles Dodgers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Game 1: Kershaw vs deGrom<\/li>\n<li>Game 2: Greinke vs Snydergaard<\/li>\n<li>Game 3: Anderson vs Harvey<\/li>\n<li>Game 4: likely Matz\/Colon vs Wood<\/li>\n<li>Game 5: likely Kershaw vs deGrom rematch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Prediction: I like Los Angeles <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in this series, in 5 games.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t see NY winning either game in LA, I see them easily winning Harvey&#8217;s start but then the Matz\/Colon question for Game 4 could come back to haunt them.\u00a0 Matz hasn&#8217;t pitched in 2 weeks and Colon is 42 &#8230; but Colon dominated the Dodgers in his sole start against them this year.\u00a0 Meanwhile, Wood has plenty of experience with the Mets lineup from his time in Atlanta but has performed pretty poorly against them this season, so I could see this going game 5 in LA.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chicago Cubs-St. Louis:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Game 1: Lackey vs Lester<\/li>\n<li>Game 2: Garcia vs Hendricks<\/li>\n<li>Game 3: Wacha vs Arrieta<\/li>\n<li>Game 4: Lynn vs Hammel<\/li>\n<li>Game 5: likely\u00a0Lackey vs Lester rematch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>St Louis won the season series against Chicago &#8230; but lost 4 out of 6 in their two September Series.\u00a0 St. Louis is banged up, they have questions about some of their starters, and their all-important catcher will be playing with a split on his thumb.\u00a0 Hmm.\u00a0 Meanwhile.
